BC1HU was a fast, inexpensive, and intelligent charger

With our first child, we registered for numerous items (child swing, baby monitor, cradle rocker, etc..) and I quickly realized that our rechargeable stock of AA and AAA NiMH batteries weren’t going cut it any more as the new items required C and D sized battery cells as well. I started doing some internet searches for large cell NiMH batteries and chargers and found that the Vanson BC1HU was a fast, inexpensive, and intelligent charger that was highly recommended. The Vanson can charge a variety of battery sizes (AA’s, AAA’s, C’s, D’s & 9-volt) whether they are NiCd or NiMH. I then discovered that www.batteryspace.com had an EXCELLENT combo package that includes the Vanson BC1HU charger, 4xD-cells, 4xC-cells, 4xAA’s, 4xAAA’s, and 2x9-volt Powerizer batteries for less than $80! After finding this “steal of a deal” my next step was to make sure that www.batteryspace.com was a reputable retailer and my Google searches showed that they in fact were. After placing my order with them and receiving the batteries I decided to see if using the “discharge feature” of the Vanson on some of my old NiMH batteries could breathe some life into them. Sure enough, several AA and AAA batteries (around 90% of the ones that I tried) were able to be discharged, charged and then used again even though my old Energizer charger (which only charges AA and AAA’s) refused to charge them any more. Having a quality charger like the Vanson, had already paid off as I could start using most of my old, left for dead, NiMH batteries again. My next test was to see how the included Powerizer batteries from www.batteryspace.com would last in my various “toys”. The 2500 mAH AA batteries powered my Canon PowerShot camera for many more shots that my previous 1800mAH NiMH batteries that had served me so well. I also swapped out the old 700 mAH AAA batteries from my universal remote and replaced them with some Powerizer 850mAH AAA batteries and noticed that they lasted around 2 months, instead of the 1 month

well packaged and arrived on time and in expected new condition

This is a review of BC1HU Universal Smart Charger + 18 Various Upgraded NiMH Cells (item CH-BC1HUC03) purchased from www.batteryspace.com. The product includes a universal smart charger that will charge AAA, AA, C, D and even 9v rechargeable batteries. You can charge up to 4 of the regular size batters (AAA, AA, C, D) and up to 2 of the 9v at a time. The charger charges each battery individually which is nice as some chargers require a minimum of two or more batteries in them to charge, and also charges both Ni-mh and Ni-cad. The unit came bundled together with 4 AAA’s, 4 AA’s, 4 C’s, 4 D’s and 2 9volt batteries. I nearly purchased an Energizer brand from Wal-Mart before this purchase and was shocked by the capacity difference in the C and D batteries. The Energizer D size rechargeable from Wal-Mart only have a capacity of ~2,500 mAh versus the 10,000 mAh that are included in this bundle (D size rechargeable’s at RadioShack were more expensive and only ~5,000 mAh. Buying the other batteries and charger would have been slightly cheaper, but I would have been getting batteries with less capacity and a non-smart charger. I currently also have a simple non-smart charger for AA size batteries that I use for a digital camera. The AA batteries that come in the package from batteryspace.com have a 30% larger capacity which will be very convenient when you are out on vacation and are taking lots of pictures. I also have always found it very annoying to use the non-smart chargers as unless they are completely drained, you really can’t be sure what the recommended time is to charge them to reach full capacity. With this smart charger it does this automatically for you, which also helps keep the rechargeable batteries in good condition by not overcharging them. As a new father, my purpose of buying the smart charger and rechargeable batteries was to save money from buying alkaline batteries for things like swings, bouncers, toys, etc... Now that I have the baby and we’ve rec

I would definitely recommend making your battery charger and rechargeable battery purchase from www.batteryspace.com, an EXCELLENT company!

I bought a lot of batteries a while back from www.batteryspace.com and they are fairly decent. This product is great, I recommend if you need a lot of different sized batteries.
