  • The CBA amplifier is an add-on accessory for a CBA designed primarily for commercial users or that must test smaller batteries at or near the destructive limits. It also may be used for testing large lead acid batteries used in power backup applications and for FAA aircraft battery test requirements. Competition modelers may wish to have and amplifier for high rate testing but it is not needed for the average modeler.

  • The amplifier is a very simple in concept. It is a DC amplifier that connects to a CBA and amplifies and regulates discharge current of the CBA times 10. It increases the 100 watt continuous capability of the CBA to 500 watts! It will allow testing of a single nickel cell at 160 amps and regulate that current all the way down to .9 volts. A single Lithium cell may be tested at 120 amps!

  • Notice: Must order CBA separately (please click here)  to use with this amplifier

FEATURES

  • Test at 10X current using the amplifier in between a CBA and your battery. ( CBA is not included )
  • Perform tests quickly at or near destructive limits; up to 500 watts or 160 amps maximum, whichever is higher!
    • Easy convert to 2000 Watts Amplifier by 4 parallel configuration (Must buy 4 pcs 500 Watts Amplifiers seperately, Please see picture for detail)
  • A special version of the CBA software is downloadable to do the proper 10X calculations with one or two amplifiers.
  • Test a Lithium cell at up to 120 amps / 500 watts.  e.g (battery voltage x discharging current ) <= 500
  • Test a Nickel cell at 160 amps regulated down to .9 volts.
  • Test batteries at or near their limits.
  • Superior constant current testing ,electronically regulated amplification, using an amplified six FET electronic load.
  • Automatic fan operation whenever current is sensed from the CBA with a cool down cycle.
  • May be left in line and switched off for normal CBA operation at lower discharge rates.
  • Supplied with copper bus 5/16 bronze bolt battery connections and plug in Power pole CBA connector
  • Included 1 pc 12AWG Connector Adapter, Convert from Standard Anderson plug to Standard Anderson plug for DIY
  • Included 1 pc AC to DC adapter (World-Wide use) --- CE / UL listed

Specifications:

  • Maximum continuous discharge rate: 500 watts per amplifier.  ( You can get 1000W discharging rate if connect two amplifiers together in parallel )
  • Discharge rate amplification typically 10X +- 1%
  • Absolute maximum operating voltage: 48 Volts
  • Maximum discharge rate: 160 amps (3.12 Volts at test start) (Battery dependant)
  • Minimum Voltage for a 160 amp discharge: .9 volts at completion of test (Battery dependant)
  • Supplied with copper bus 5/16 bronze bolt battery connections and plug in Power-pole CBA connector.
  • On/off/bypass switch. On and over temperature LED indicators, viewable from across a room.
  • Automatic fan operation senses 1 amp or more current from the CBA. Stays on approximately 5 minutes after test completion.
  • Dimensions (overall): 5.5" W x 6.25" H x 13.75" L.
  • Weight: 8.0 lbs 5.92 Oz  (3799 grams)
